A Collaboration with Olla Curtains and Blinds

Bespoke curtains and blinds have the power to transform a space, adding softness, texture and character. In this project, we’re delighted to shine a spotlight on local artisan Iva of Olla Curtains and Blinds, whose beautifully crafted drapery is now showcased in our Chelmsford studio.

Iva has been handmaking bespoke curtains, blinds and soft furnishings from her home studio in Galleywood since 2020, but her relationship with sewing began long before that. With a diploma in soft furnishings and over two decades of experience, her work blends precision, creativity, and a heartfelt commitment to craftsmanship. She offers an end-to-end tailored service, from home consultations and fabric sourcing to hand-finished details and installation, all carried out with her signature attention to detail.

We invited Iva to create a bespoke curtain installation for one of our showroom pods, something to soften the hard surfaces and elevate the overall scheme. The brief was to complement the warm, dark furniture and the rich blue hue of Juniper Ash (115) by Little Greene, which we used to colour-drench the walls and skirting.

Iva’s eye for fabric is exceptional, and she guided us through a considered selection before we landed on the stunning Sadira Indigo from The Pure Edit collection, a Persian-inspired decorative stripe printed on 100% organic cotton. Its intricate zigzag motif, drawn from an ancient rug border, brought layered texture and storytelling to the scheme. To finish, Iva added a playful burnt orange fringe and selected poles and finials that added just the right level of understated luxury.

“Sadira Indigo immediately stood out to me, its pattern has such a rich story behind it and pairing it with a burnt orange fringe added just the right amount of contrast and personality.”

The result? A striking yet elegant feature that perfectly captures the transformative power of textiles in a space.

About The Little Greene Paint & The Pure Edit

For best results, test a sample form B&L on white paper and move it around your space.  You’ll see how the colour shifts beautifully with the light.
